Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

I finished this book over the course of one weekend. I missed this kind of feeling - progress, that is. It’s been a while since I felt really accomplished after reading anything, since most of what I read these days are excerpts for acads, or really long critical essays that aren’t necessarily under the umbrella of “easy, relaxing reading.”

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

I decided to read the book again after watching the last installment of the Harry Potter film franchise (tears). I finished it in about four days, (that’s actually two weekends, because I left it at home when I went to the dorm for school) and quite honestly I haven’t finished anything like that so quickly in a while. Lately all I’ve been reading are for acads (lit theories or references for thesis) and it certainly is refreshing to be this excited about a novel again - and one so close to my heart and childhood, at that. Will do Deathly Hallows once I get my hands on a copy.

About:

I am 19 years old, but I don’t think I will look like that age for at least another three years. I am a Creative Writing junior at the University of the Philippines who finds solace in McFlurry and/or a pack of Oreos.

I love books and I love reading. I find quiet, little silences most comfortable, but it only makes sense to me when I put it into words. I think my fingers are in theory the sexiest part of my body, not because they look gorgeous, but because they get the most exercise: I don’t go by a day without striking keys, be it the keyboard or the piano. I’ve read enough books to conclude that fiction is sometimes far more interesting than real life.

In a perfect world, I would have written down all the books I’ve read since I first laid my eyes on one, diligently listed down all the quotes I’ve found interesting, and arranged my bookshelves according to author, then title of their books.

I don’t believe in Tumblr. But until I get to that perfect world with perfectly arranged paperbacks and hardbounds, this book log would have to do.

Meanwhile, here's my other blog.
